So, I was a bit bored tonight, and this suddenly just jumped into my head. I think I really just wanted to see Yuuki flick Aidou on the nose, and this seemed like the way to go about it. It takes place after Chapter 45.
PUNISHMENT IN STYLE by....um...Abstract? Yeah?
“Ugh.”
Yuuki sighed.
“Oh, what the hell is this?”
It was getting very, very hard to ignore Aidou’s groans of disapproval.
“Are you kidding me?”
Finally, Yuuki put down the book that she was skimming through and sat up. She crossed her legs on her bed and blinked down at the pile of clothes that were lying in various places on her bedroom floor. She raised an eyebrow at the blonde man who was currently standing in the doorway of her closet, pulling out all her clothes and judging them before throwing them onto the floor.
He grabbed her favorite pajama pants and snorted, feeling the soft cotton before rolling his eyes and tossing them over his shoulder.
“Oh! Hey!” Yuuki frowned, motioning towards the discarded pants. “Now what is wrong with my ducky pajama pants?!”
Aidou looked over his shoulder at her, raising up both his brows in a shocked look of the ‘are you kidding me’ nature. Yuuki’s mouth opened and closed like a fish before she scooted off the bed and went to lift the blue baggy pants off the ground. She ran her hand over the soft fabric, smiling at the little yellow ducks in top hats.
“What? It’s pajamas, who is going to look at them?”
“Kaname-sama is. Kaname-sama will see ALL of these clothes.” Aidou took out a pink t-shirt with a hamster in a martial arts gi and snorted before throwing that one as well. “Yuuki…erm…sama, you are a pureblood now. Meaning that you are held in high regard. Your clothing needs to show your status. You can’t have…ducks in hats and hamsters. You need fine silks, and deep dresses.”
Yuuki frowned, holding her pajama pants close to her chest as she swept some hair that escaped her long ponytail out of her face. Her lips formed a thin line and she set the pants on the bed.
“I don’t think that Kaname-niisama will care what I’m wearing, Aidou-senpai.”
“Oh yeah, you think that.”
The pureblood sighed before grabbing the boy’s shirt collar and pulling him away from her closet. She pulled him along towards the door, and opened the deep mahogany before throwing him in the doorway.
“Aidou-senpai, if Kaname-niisama has a problem with my clothes, then he can tell me himself and I’ll do something about it. But until then.”
The door was slammed in his face, and she sighed, leaning against the smooth wood. Geeze, who knew that being a pureblood would require so much work? She sighed before moving towards her bed and flopping down on it. What if Aidou was right? Kaname had only ever seen her in a school uniform and whatever she wore when she was younger. He never acted like it bothered him, but maybe it was because she was little, and allowed to wear what she wanted. She was human then…now she wasn’t. Now she was Kaname’s fiancé, and should act like it.
A sound knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts and she mumbled a ‘come in’ before throwing her arm over her eyes.
“Yuuki.”
The thick sound of a velvety monotone made her take her arm off her eyes and see the object of her thoughts standing over her.
“Oh…Kaname-niisama…hi.”
He smiled softly at her, and her breath caught in her throat. He always looked so perfect. His hair was dark and messy in a way that didn’t look messy at all, and he stood up straight with the proper posture of his status. A dark shirt of the finest silk fit his frame and white slacks sat perfectly on him. She tried to discreetly look at his outfit before judging her own attire. This morning…er…evening, she didn’t think it was so bad, blue jeans and a purple sweater. But now…now she just looked so very ordinary next to him.
“Why are your clothes everywhere?”
She blinked up at him and sat up straight, scratching the back of her head nervously.
“Aidou-senpai was um…giving fashion advice for the new pureblood. Apparently my style of clothing isn’t up to um…par.”
Her brother’s eyes flashed slightly, and his smile became tight. “Did Aidou say that?”
Suddenly she was nervous about getting him in trouble. Her hands twisted together.
“No…well, yes, but it’s totally okay. I don’t mind.”
Kaname sighed, lifting a hand to rub his eyes before calling out loudly. “Aidou. Come in here. Now.”
Fast as lightening, Aidou was in the room and standing next to the older pureblood.
“Yes, Kaname-sama?”
“Did you do this to Yuuki’s clothes?”
Aidou blanched, wide eyes looking between the two Kurans before he dropped to one knee and put a hand over his heart.
“I am deeply sorry Kaname-sama, punish me in any way you see fit.”
Kaname frowned. “The offense wasn’t made to me, but Yuuki. The punishment is hers to give.”
Aidou looked up at her expectantly, and she stared at Kaname with large eyes.
“Do I have to?”
“I’m sorry, but…yes.”
Yuuki sighed and nodded before getting off the bed and bending down to Aidou’s level. He closed his eyes and awaited the slap that he was so used to getting, but instead felt a flick against his forehead. Blue eyes opened and he stared at her as she tapped his nose with her finger.
“Bad Aidou.” She scolded. “That was very bad. Don’t do it again.”
Aidou was torn between laughing and being very confused, so instead he just nodded and stood up. He muttered an ‘understood Yuuki-sama.’ Before walking out of the room. Once the door was closed all the way, Kaname blinked down at his fiancé before breaking out in highly uncharacteristic laughter.
Yuuki smiled up at him and stood, wrapping her arms around his waist. Kaname hugged her back and sighed, smiling into her hair.
“That isn’t exactly what I meant when I said punishment.”
She sighed into his chest. “I don’t like being the bad cop…not with people that I love.”
Kaname nodded, rubbing her back. It wasn’t in Yuuki’s nature to be cruel, even as a vampire. He could never expect her to make full punches; it was what made her so loveable.
Yuuki pulled away from his embrace and grabbed her beloved ducky pants. She held them up for him to see.
“Do you think these are stupid?”
Kaname smiled widely and ran his hand along one leg. He chuckled softly at how her face lit up when she saw his approval.
“They have top hats on.”
“Yeah!” She grinned. “I think it’d be cooler if they had little tuxedos…but I guess it wouldn’t make much sense for a duck to wear a tuxedo.”
Kaname took the pants out of her grip and laid them on the bed before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“But it makes absolute sense for them to have top hats. They are very eloquent birds.”
The girl giggled and shifted from foot to foot before hugging him again. Aidou was wrong, and she knew it. It was a lesson for her, if people thought that her clothing didn’t meet her rank, then that didn’t matter. Kaname loved her for who she was, and that was really all that she cared about in the end. The only one that really needed to care what she looked like was him. In Kaname’s opinion she could wear dirty overalls and pigtails and he would think her utterly adorable. Actually, now that he thought about it, the mental image was rather cute.
